Selection Process 2016
SOUTH WEST GROUP Match Official Selection Process
In order to gain promotion from Level 6 (Federation / Society Match Official) to Level 5 (Divisional Match Official Team) the following criteria is in place for Referees:
To have officiated in 4 fixtures at Level 6 (minimum level) appointed by Federation/Society (Essential)
All reports to be from outside the referees Society (Essential)
To have one of the games Video’ d (Desirable)
To have been watched by one of the SW Group MOs / Selectors officiating a Level 6+ fixture (Essential)
To have officiated in 2 exchange fixtures at Level 6 (Desirable)
To nominate a Referee for promotion the Federation must supply the following information:
Rugby CV
Application Letter
4 x Level 6 RFU Match Observer Reports
Federation Recommendation
NB – fixtures can include Level 5 / 6, AASE League, BUCs fixtures U18 Academy
Nominations:
December – Nominations by 1st December 2016
April – Nominations to be received by 1st April 2017
Once nominations have been received for Match Officials who meet the criteria – SW GROUP Development Managers will arrange for a selection Interview to be undertaken.
Special Case – The SW Group executive and the Federations have the remit to nominate a Match Official they believe to be exceptionally talented – who at the time of the Selection window does not meet the criteria. A Decision will then be made by the South West Group Managers on the selection process.
