PROGRESS ON ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW WOMEN’S COMPETITION
To all CB secretaries
On October 14, the RFU Council approved the proposals for a new competition for the top tier of women’s club rugby – a league of up to ten teams to replace the existing 8 team Premiership. Admittance to this new competition will be open to clubs who are able to demonstrate that they can meet a set of minimum standards which have the objective of establishing standards at club level which will enable players to develop locally and become better able to cope with stepping up to international level
Every member club, university and college was circulated with details. Anyone interested, or merely curious, was invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) to a dedicated e-mail address by 5pm on Friday 11th November
Everyone (without exception) who submitted an EoI was sent a more detailed Request for Proposals (RFP) on Monday 14th November.
Those who wish to be considered will have until January 9th 2017 to submit their detailed proposals
Part of those proposals will include a requirement that each application will be supported by a statement of support from their local CB. I’d be grateful if you will bring this to the attention of your relevant colleague(s) within your CB so that they will be able to provide this
