Referee on the spot?
So December turned out so wet we should soon evolve gills or at least webbed feet.
Pitches have got covered in water and many rugby clubs have borne the brunt of flooding both of pitches, facilities and clubhouses.
Now the rugby family can all help in some way, and many have helped those badly affected by floods. Helping with cleaning up, replacing damaged items, loan of pitches to play matches. It all helps. Well done all.
Those wet and muddy pitches. In doubt? Safety first. Discuss with both captains and coaches, try to achieve a common agreement. Alternative pitch available? Referees do not make the final call unless it is to say "no this pitch is unplayable".
If ref thinks pitch is acceptable and captains / coaches disagree, the match cannot go ahead.
Has to be an agreement for match to proceed.
Safety first always.
