Hi Guys
Just giving you some info as you start your membership of the CRRS
Firstly welcome and well done for taking up the whistle. I will try to give you some useful information. Many of you have asked the following questions.
Whos the Ref Steve requests that you mark any days that you are not available on the calendar. Remember sometimes there may be midweek Schools/College games, Sunday Youth Games and floodlight games occasionally. Also accept your games as early as possible. Any appointment issues contact Steve Avenell
Advisors Reports Advisors are Gary Vaughan ( Chair CRRS ) Ian Hamilton ( Gradings and Reports Sec) Andy Watts, Fred Woods, Mel Jones and Trevor Tanner. Plus myself as Ref Coach and Steve Avenell if he is not whistling. All Advisors have radios and should use them to hear your management style during the game. You should have a debrief after the game and then a report e mailed to you within a few days. These reports must also be sent to Ian Hamilton normally by the advisor.
Gradings These are normally done at the end of the season and may be reviewed in January. New refs may be graded after a number of reports have been logged
. Ian Hamilton deals with all gradings.
Membership Is £15 a season and can be paid to Trevor Stribley or via expenses.. You can claim 40p per mile for appointed games in County. Expenses should be claimed every 8 weeks to Russ Pomeroy and the claim form is on our website .
Sponsored Kit The second order will be available from me on Friday 20th October and you can collect from my home address 14 Trevingey Close Redruth TR15 3BX during the day up till 6pm and Saturday morning. Cost is £20 which you can pay me cash or via expenses.
Coaching Is available via myself and any time you want to contact me I am available to help you. I am mentoring Danny Robins and Alan Richards at level 8 but if someone wants to progress and the CRRS EXEC agree then I can add you to my list.
I hope this info will answer some of your questions. Anything else you can always contact the relevant person or be at a meeting which is normally the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
Next one is October 17th when Phil Morris who is a Community Rugby Coach in Cornwall employed by the RFU will run a Scrum Factory session.
Regards
Chris Hailey
