Peter Cock.
IN MEMORIAM
Peter Cock.
Blazer, badge and tie.
It is with sadness I pass onto you all the news that former Cornwall Rugby Referees Society referee PETER COCK has passed away.
Peter was a local rugby player and was a referee with the society when I joined in the late eighties, and over the seasons we spent some time post match having a beer and discussing the merits of the match and sometimes even the ref!
His favorite match to referee was Redruth v Camborne, not the easiest of games to ref, but he enjoyed them, then Peter, in Blazer, Badge and Tie, would chat to the players at the bar and put them right on the laws.
A big rugby supporter as well as a referee, Peter would also go away to watch Cornwall and watch his local team when not busy with refereeing.
Watching internationals, even watching on TV with his daughter Kathryn, he would pass on his experience and advice to the on field officials whilst enjoying and sharing his love of the game.
Later in life, he was so very proud when his granddaughter was selected to play rugby for Cornwall U18.
CRRS will be attending the service as we bid farewell to one of our own.
Our thoughts are with Peters family and friends at this most difficult of times.
Gary Vaughan Chairman CRRS.
