CRRS pilot area for this launch!
Next month, England Rugby is launching the England Rugby Referees Association (ERRA) which aims to engage, communicate with and update people who complete either a Level One: Refereeing Children or Level Two: Refereeing the 15-a-side Game (formerly ELRA) course. While some complete a course and join their local referee society, many drift back to their club/school/university and, in the past, England Rugby has not had a platform in which to directly engage with these people and promote refereeing, etc. ERRA aims to address this.
We aim to launch ERRA next month, capitalising on the success of the Six Nations. There will be a presence on Englandrugby.com and people who hold a qualification (L1, L2, ELRA, etc) will be encouraged to sign-up via the website.
When we achieve a database of people who have signed up, we will launch a series of monthly e-newsletters to ERRA members which will include latest news, game communications, updates from other stakeholders (World Rugby, etc), training and development information and promotion and a short training video entitled “Whistle-Stop”. The aim of these is to provide ERRA members with short training clips on different aspects of refereeing. Hopefully it will encourage members to develop their skills and, for non-members who also see it, to want to be part of ERRA. As ERRA grows, so will the benefits, but at this Phase One rollout stage, we are looking to build a membership and develop the e-newsletter and Whistle-Stop training videos.
As the project manager for ERRA, I am asking if Cornwall Society would like to be part of a pilot with regards to people signing up so we can test our sign-up processes and systems? We will of course encourage all referees to sign-up and hope as many society officials as possible do so, but your help in testing our systems would be much appreciated.
Could I therefore ask you sign-up by completing this form: : http://docs.google.com/forms/d/1guchsGQD-XrG1hwwkBBZqIJS0CXsYOCMNEfyXH7oSNI/viewform
You will require your RFU ID which you access via Englandugby.com and My Rugby. Should you have any questions, please do give me a call 07894 783378.
Many thanks for your support.
